After the zoo we headed to Hopkins Village, a small Garifuna fishing village south of Belize City. We stayed in little bungalows that are owned by Greg and Anita. Greg is American and Anita is German. Talk about paradise! The village is very low-key and peaceful. While we were there we basically swam, ate, read, and relaxed.
The second day we were there we drove an hour south to Placencia, an up and coming vacation/retirement spot in Belize. The weather up to that point hadn't been to hot (literally and figuratively) but this was the first day that the weather was AMAZING! Same as in Hopkins, we did a lot of eating and relaxing here but there is also a cute strip of shops on the beach for shopping. At this point in the trip Kris started his first of many 'flings' with random village dogs. His dog of choice in Hopkins was Fluffy, a local's dog who loves tourists. Fluffy would seriously follow us almost every where we went. I think Kris paid so much attention to his because he liked not being a 5th wheel anymore :) Just kidding bro!
